Portishead working on new record

Portishead’s Geoff Barrow has confirmed that the group are working on a new (as of yet untitled) album of new material “from a different angle”. Barrow also states that since the band are without a record label, they are weighing up options as far as distribution goes, however they are unlikely to undertake the process themselves. Speaking to BBC 6 music Barrow commented:

“[Being without a record deal] is a really lovely place to be for the first time. We’re meeting labels and just talking about the future and where the business is going.”

Portishead’s last record “Third” was released 11 years after their self-titled second album.
